Where do you live?
In Limassol, with a family of three boys and a very dangerous dog.
Best childhood memory?
Playing hide and seek until midnight during the summer period in Cyprus without any worries or concerns about any form or chance of danger.
Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish?
Miro restaurant at Platia Iroon in Limassol, especially for their home made chicken burger followed by a chocolate brownie in a mug with orange ice-cream (sweet is not on the menu and you can have it only if the chef likes you), all at reasonable economic crisis prices.
What did you have for breakfast?
My wife’s great home made tomato-bread with avocado.
Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What’s your idea of the perfect night/day out?
Both I would say. During the day I am lucky enough to have a great job that I really like and enjoy very much at Cyprus University of Technology, while a perfect night out would be a spontaneous gathering of good friends and a bottle of nice wine by the sea for existential-funny conversations.
Best book ever read?
Not just one, however, On the Road, a novel by American writer Jack Kerouac questioning the construction of meaning and belonging as well as doubting the given norms is at the top of my favorites list.
Favourite film of all time?
Among the many… one would be Dancer in the Dark, a 2000 Danish musical drama film directed by Lars von Trier as it depicts in a metaphorical, ironic and symbolic way, human behaviour in the context of survival, sacrifice and love.
Best holiday ever taken? What’s your dream trip?
Best holiday destination is the island of Naxos in Greece because of the secret blue lagoons that it has. Dream trip would be to travel the world continuously for six months, blend with cultures and their customs, as well as experiencing their traditions and daily habits.

Arctic Monkeys – AM, just perfect!
What is always in your fridge?
Cheese and if it was possible I would also have watermelon.
Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
I have always been fascinated by tree houses, however where I am now I am very satisfied, being at a location off city centre and near the sea… so somewhere in the middle is just great!
If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
I would pick up Jacques Bertin, a French cartographer and theorist, known from his book Semiologie Graphique (Semiology of Graphics), published in 1967. I would be fascinated to discuss with him the wider semiotic aspects of his theoretical foundation to Information Visualization.
If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
I would be with my family and make sure that my boys don’t realise it.

Cockroaches, wether in their literal or metaphorical context in real life.
