Betting shop blaze suspected arson

A BETTING shop in Kornos was burned down during the early hours of Friday, police said.

At around 3.40am police received a call that the premises were on fire. Officers from Kofinou police station and the disaster response squad EMAK went to the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze.

The damage to the shop has yet to be estimated.

Initial examinations carried out at the scene indicate it was arson, police said.

The betting shop had been a previous target of arsonists.
