20-year old fights for life after crash

A 20-year-old man from Larnaca is fighting for his life in Nicosia general hospital after he suffered severe head injuries during a car crash on Sunday night, police said.

According to reports, at around 9.30pm the young man was driving his car with two 20-year-old passengers near the roundabout where Nea Salamina football club’s stadium is, heading for Larnaca.

The driver lost control of the car resulting in a collision with a road sign which caused it to flip over, police said.

The three men were taken to Larnaca general hospital but due to the severity of the driver’s injuries he was taken to Nicosia general hospital. The two passengers received first aid and were released.

The unfortunate 20-year-old driver has swelling and bleeding in the brain amongst other injuries, police said.
