A 46-year-old and his female partner,22, were injured on Monday after shots were fired against them as they were getting out of their car in the village of Apeshia, in the Limassol district.

Police, who are treating the incident as attempted murder, said the pair’s wounds were not life-threatening.

The man told police he had no differences with anyone and could not think of any person who might want to harm him.

A police spokesman said all possibilities were being investigated although robbery has been ruled out initially.

The couple were getting out of their car outside their house at around 1am when two shots were fired against them using a hunting shotgun.

They drove themselves to Limassol hospital where they were treated for injuries to the pelvis.
