Limassol drug arrests

TWO PEOPLE were arrested on Friday night by Limassol police after being caught in possession of drugs, a police spokesman told the Cyprus News Agency.

At 7.30 pm on Friday, anti-drug squad officers, acting on a tip off stopped a car driven by a 37-year-old man with a 36-year-old man as a passenger.

Following a search, a transparent bag containing around 100 grams of cocaine was identified.

In the car’s glove compartment three unused syringes were found, containing a clear liquid. One of the suspects carried €11,000 in cash in a leather purse, while the other carried four cheques for the amount of €395.

All the evidence was confiscated by the anti-drug squad and the two were arrested following a court order.
