Man critical after being hit by car

Limassol police were seeking information on Thursday concerning a road accident, which left a 19-year-old man in critical condition.

Pedestrian, Abdulahdi Albidar, a Cypriot citizen of Syrian descent, suffered heavy head and lung injuries after he was hit by a car driven by a 33-year-old woman at 8.45pm on Wednesday on Leontios A Street.

He was rushed to Limassol hospital but was then transferred to Nicosia due to the severity of his condition.

The woman is being treated in a private clinic for shock.

Road accident officer Emilios Kafas urged anyone who had any information about the accident to contact their nearest station or call the hotline 1460.
