Two soldiers have been injured, one seriously, in a grenade explosion at the Kalavasos firing range, reports said on Thursday

Their condition was not life threatening, reports said.

A conscript, 18, suffered serious injury to his hand, while a non-commissioned officer, 38, sustained lighter wounds to various parts of his body after a frag grenade exploded during an exercise at around 12pm.

The exercise was part of training new recruits hoping to join the navy’s elite underwater demolition units OYK.
