Greens organise Easter egg-painting event

The Green Party will on Thursday give demonstrations in Nicosia and Limassol on more environmentally sound, and safer methods of colouring eggs for Easter.

In an announcement on Wednesday, the party said the best way was to use white eggs, which should be washed or wiped clean and left at room temperature for a few hours before boiling in vinegar.

To make the eggs red, the Greens suggest using beetroot water. For green, spinach, orange, onion skins, yellow, carrots or turmeric, and for purple, a few handfuls of violets.

Those who want to learn the exact process can attend the demonstration at Eleftheria Square in Nicosia on Thursday from noon to 1pm with Green Party MP Giorgos Perdikis and others.

In Limassol the demonstration will be held at Afxentiou Square at the same time with participating officials including EDEK MP Marinos Sizopoulos.
