Three British men ‘caught smoking cannabis’

Three Britons, aged 20, 21 and 22 were arrested in Ayia Napa on Monday night after police found 24 grammes of cannabis in their holiday apartment, police said.

According to the police report, officers acted on a tip alleging that the trio had a large amount of cannabis in their possession. Police placed their apartment under surveillance and at around 7.40pm they were seen smoking “what appeared to be a cigarette”. Police raided their apartment where they found the drugs, they said.

According to the report, the 22-year-old was visiting from England while the other two are permanent residents.

The three were taken to the Ayia Napa police station where they were questioned. They were released shortly after and will be called back to be charged at a later date.
