Two men on remand for admitting jewellery theft

Two men have been remanded in police custody for four days after admitting to jewellery theft following their arrest on Saturday in the Nicosia area.

They were arrested for illegal property possession when jewellery and other valuables were found in their car.
One of the two men, a 20-year-old, admitted he had stolen the jewellery after breaking into a house in the Nicosia area.
According to the police, the two men’s car was tracked down by a riot squad car after reports that it was seen moving suspiciously in the Kokkinotrimithia area.
After a search, jewellery and other valuables were found in a bag under the co-driver’s seat.
The Kokkinotrimithia police station is investigating the case.
