Remand for alleged Paralimni pickpocket

The Larnaca District court ordered the six-day remand of a 50-year-old Bulgarian woman in connection with the theft and illegal use of a credit card, a police report said.

According to the report, on June 6 a 78-year-old Dheryneia resident reported having his wallet stolen from his back pocket, in which he carried the amount of €170 in cash and a credit card, during the service at the Ayion Panton church in Dheryneia.

After establishing that the stolen card was used on June 14 three times, once in Larnaca and twice in Paralimni, for a sum total of €500, police investigations led them to two Bulgarian women – a 32-year-old, who had been guarded while hospitalised, and a 50-year-old.

The 32-year-old was released and the 50-year-old was remanded for six days.
