Christofias treated for heart arrhythmia

Former president Demetris Christofias is being treated in hospital for heart arrhythmia, it was announced on Wednesday.

Christofias, 68, had checked into Nicosia general hospital for routine tests and was found to have heart arrhythmia, his doctor Michalis Mina said in a statement.

The former president was receiving the necessary treatment and was expected to leave hospital on Wednesday afternoon, Mina said.
