A minute with Costas Harpas Writer of fairytales, contributor to Megalosa Stin Kypro, Re (I Was Raised in Cyprus!)

Where do you live?
Born in Nicosia. Live in Limassol. Work in Nicosia. And so the story goes…

Best childhood memory?
Dreaming of growing old. Dreaming of flying to the moon. Done the first one.

What did you have for breakfast?
I ate an apple, while driving to my work.

Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What’s your idea of the perfect night/day out?
An early night is my salvation. It is the only time that I can actually dream about the morning after. A late night though, welcomes the brand new day.

Best book ever read?
CS Lewis’ The Chronicles of Narnia, where children from the real world were mysteriously transported to Narnia. Fairytales: The story of my life.

Favourite film of all time?
All the Indiana Jones films. It’s all about fairytales. Again.

Favourite holiday destination? What’s your dream trip?
I have three favourite destinations: The ancient city of Petra, Cairo and Alexandria. I hate artificial destinations. Las Vegas is not in my dreams, for sure! Not even in my nightmares.

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
Nickelback’s, Photograph. But not in the car. I am sitting in the kitchen.

What is always in your fridge?

Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
I don’t have a dream house but I believe in… ‘Home’. There is no place like ‘Home’.

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
My grandfather. I don’t know why. I just want to see him.

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?

What is your greatest fear?
To live life with regrets.

Tell me a joke…
