Negotiators meet for 9 hours

According to Sigmalive the nine hour meeting between the two negotiators produced no results

THE Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot negotiators Andreas Mavroyiannis and Kudret Ozersay, met for a nine hour marathon session yesterday, in an attempt to decide upon low-level confidence building measures and methodology, before the two community leaders’ meeting on July 24.

Government spokesman Nicos Christodoulides told the Cyprus News Agency that this was a “special meeting”, which was outside the framework of the negotiators’ regular encounters on the core issues of the Cyprus question. He said they discussed issues related to the preparation of the leaders’ meeting, confidence building measures, methodology and the next steps in the negotiations.

Sigmalive reported that the meeting didn’t produce any results and that the UN would now hold separate meetings with the two negotiators.
