Man seriously injured from rifle accident

A 27-year-old man from Egypt was seriously injured on Monday night when a hunting rifle went off while he was processing it.

The man, who was first transferred to the Evrychou rural health centre, is currently being looked after in the intensive care unit at Nicosia General Hospital.
According to police reports, the rifle went off, injuring the 27-year-old farm-worker under the armpit.
The incident occurred while he was at home with his wife and daughter.
Astromeritis police station and Morphou CID are investigating the case.
