Tourist injured after being hit by car

A 23-year-old Russian tourist was injured in a road accident in Ayia Napa, Famagusta, on Wednesday night.

According to a police report, the 23-year-old was rushed to a private hospital in nearby Paralimni after suffering bruises and lacerations in various parts of her body and a head injury.

At around 7:15 pm on Wednesday night, a 59-year-old British woman, a permanent resident of Paralimni, while driving her car in Ayia Napa struck the Russian tourist who had been crossing the street.

As a result, the 23-year-old suffered a head injury and was rushed by ambulance to a private clinic in Paralimni, where she was held for treatment.

The 59-year-old, who had worn her seatbelt, was put through an alcohol test that gave a zero reading.
