Suspected Ebola case in north was typhus

A Nigerian woman in the north suspected of having Ebola has tested negative.

According to Turkish Cypriot press reports, the woman, aged 21, had gone to a hospital in Famagusta on Sunday complaining of a high fever. She was placed in quarantine after it was suspected she might have Ebola.

However it was established later on Monday that the young woman had contracted typhus and tested negative for Ebola.
