Poaching raid

Authorities in Paphos are investigating two cases involving the illegal possession of wild birds.

Members of the Game Service, along with police on Monday raided two premises.

At one premises in Polis, officers found 14 birds in the fridge and confiscated them but no one was there at the time. The case is still being investigated.

On a second premises in the same area, they found nine birds, two animal skulls and the horns of a moufflon, along with a bird trap.

The owner of the second premises was taken to Polis police station in, charged and released.
