Tourism revenue up in June

Revenue from tourism increased by €43.4 million in June, 2014, compared to the same month in 2013, while during the first half of the year, revenue increased by €81.1 million, according to the Statistical Services.

On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached €303.2m in June 2014 compared to €259.8m in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 16.7 per cent.

For the period January–June 2014 revenue from tourism is estimated to €778.7m compared to €697.6m in the corresponding period of 2013, recording an increase of 11.6 per cent.
As regards tourist arrivals, numbers reached 342,221 in June 2014 compared to 308,219 in the corresponding month of 2013.
