Remand for man caught with cocaine at airport (Update)

A 49-year-old Greek national was remanded for eight days on Wednesday following his arrest earlier in the day at Larnaca airport after police officers found 67grammes of cocaine.

The cocaine was packaged in two plastic cylinders, wrapped up in plastic bag. The cylinders were found in the man’s luggage.

The man arrived in Cyprus from Amsterdam via Warsaw.

Police also found a large amount of money on the 47-year-old and in his apartment. Police investigators asked for sufficient time to determine whether the man was acting alone or if he was part of a wider ring of international drug dealers.
