Time for a referendum on partition

Newly elected Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said it clearly “It is not possible for us to reach any agreement that is not based on a two-state solution” whether you like him or not he said it straight. On the other side of the table Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras told him he wants a “bizonal, bicommunal federation” It is obvious the two sides are at logger heads.

The only way to move forward is for both sides (ROC and ‘TRNC’) is to put a referendum before their peoples Do you want reunification or a two-state solution? Let the people decide once and for all and stop these endless going nowhere talks. It would take a lot of guts from both leaders to suggest such a referendum. In the meantime, business as usual with both sides playing the blame game.
