Man arrested for possession of 2.6 kilos of cannabis

A 34-year-old Turkish Cypriot man was arrested at Larnaca airport on Monday in connection with possession of 2.6 kilograms of cannabis, police said.

The suspect, 34, had arrived from Frankfurt just before 1am. Reports said his behaviour drew the attention of drug squad officers, but no other details were given.

The drugs were found in his suitcase.

The man is a permanent resident of the Turkish occupied part of Nicosia.
