Three men from same drugs ring sentenced in Larnaca

THE Larnaca Criminal Court yesterday sentenced two men, George and Christodoulos Christodoulou from Limassol, aged 28 and 38 respectively, to 15 years in prison in connection with drug possession and drug trafficking, according to police.

A third man, Pavlos Pavlou, 45, from Aradippou, was sentenced to five years, in connection with the same case.

According to police this was the first case in which people were sentenced despite the fact that the drugs in question weren’t found on their person but already distributed.

They were convicted for illegally importing and distributing 31 kilos of cannabis.

A fourth man, Antonis Christodoulou, 46, from Larnaca, was arrested in October 2013 when police officers found seven kilos of cannabis in his possession. Christodoulou was sentenced to three and a half years, in exchange for identifying the rest of his crew and testifying against them in court.

Antonis Christodoulou told the Larnaca Criminal court that Giorgos and Christodoulos Christodoulou provided him with a total of 31 kilos of cannabis, of which he had already distributed 24.

Pavlos Pavlou was found guilty of distributing 1.8 kg of cannabis.

According to the court, all four men were part of a drug trafficking ring. Antonis Christodoulou was recruited as a dealer. When he was arrested in October 2013 he decided to turn prosecution witness in exchange for a lenient sentence.
