Monthly earnings down 3.9 pct y-o-y

Average gross monthly earnings dropped 3.9 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter of the year to €1,807, the statistical service said on Tuesday.

According to preliminary estimates, men earned €1,971 and women €1,624.

Compared with Q2 2013, the monthly earnings for men fell 4.4 per cent compared with 3.2 per cent for women.

The corresponding percentage change observed during Q2 of 2013 was -1.6 per cent.

Compared with Q1 2014, average monthly earnings fell 1.3 per cent — men -1,4 per cent, women -1.0 per cent.

The corresponding percentage change observed during the second quarter of 2013 was -0.9 per cent.
