Deflation rate at 0.9pct in September

Consumer prices fell an annual 0.9 per cent in September compared to an annual deflation rate of 0.7 per cent in August, the statistical service said on Thursday

Between January and September, consumer prices fell 1.6 per cent compared with the respective period last year, Cystat said in a statement.

The consumer price index rose in September to 117.5 units or 0.4 per cent compared with the previous month, Cystat said, mainly on higher prices for clothing, footwear, fruit and vegetables, which offset the effects of cheaper flying tickets, fuel and electricity.
