Athens and Nicosia to coordinate response to Turkey

Foreign minister Ioannis Kasoulides

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides was travelling to Athens on Monday for consultations with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos to coordinate moves to counter Turkish threat to Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone.

According to an official statement, the Cyprus issue, bilateral relations and regional developments will be the focus of discussions during the one-day working visit.
Kasoulides said on Saturday there should be coordination of diplomatic moves to discuss further measures needed in the event of an escalation of the situation, as well as some other action that would define the common position of Athens and Nicosia to address the issue.
Kasoulides is due back in Cyprus Monday evening. (CNA)
