Elderly brothers attacked

TWO brothers, 68 and 78, were attacked by two men in masks on Monday at the 68-year-old’s home in Ayios Athanasios, Limassol.

According to a police report, the attackers rushed at the 78-year-old on Monday morning after he left his brother’s house in order to go back home in Polemidhia.

His cries for help prompted his 68-year-old brother to rush to the scene, only to be attacked too before the perpetrators fled.

The altercation left the elder brother with bruises to the face and rushed to the Limassol General for treatment, while the 68-year-old gave a statement to the police.

According to the statement, the two men were young and heavily built, but the victims were unable to offer clues to their nationality as they did not speak during the attack.

Police suspect the attackers had hoped to rob the 68-year-old but were unaware that his brother was with him in the house.
