A digital concept

By Maria Gregoriou

MEDIA artist Theo-Mass Lexileictous will present his new art-collective based on his #postdigitalism theory, Extraterrestrial Postdigitalism_II, as of today at the Morfi Gallery in Limassol.

Since 2011 the artist has been working his way through the art world by incorporating what he considers to be our urban culture’s largest powers – money, fashion and the media. In 2012 he exhibited what he calls a series of creative attacks in London, and in 2013 he exhibited a number of works dealing with the digital world, the evolution of the internet, technology and social network at the Morfi Gallery in his first Extraterrestrial Postdigitalism display.

Just over a year later he is back. Visual Cultural Theorist, Marina Makris said “The works displayed represent a new approach to the subject matter, one that indicates a valued attention to the human touch, an element that was excluded from the #postdigitalism show presented a year earlier, highlighting new pathways into the exploration of the postdigitalism concept.”

The exhibition brings together video art, sculpture, drawing and 3D scanning. These media are combined to allow the artist and audience to explore the boundaries between digital and material reality.
Since its launch, the #postdigitalism episode brought together more than 40 collaborations with artists and designers working across various disciplines.

If you have never seen pieces by the media-artist, get ready for something completely different.
