Education Minister meets Cypriot EU Commissioner Stylianides

Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management European Commissioner Christos Stylianides

Education and Culture Minister Costas Kadis met on Thursday in Brussels with the EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, Cypriot Christos Stylianides.

The Minister is in Brussels to attend the EU Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council.

A press release, issued today by the Education Ministry, says that Kadis briefed the Commissioner on the Ministry`s objectives, pointing out that the aim is to provide the students with all the necessary knowledge and education for their future.

The Commissioner briefed the Minister on his recent trip to Ebola hit countries in Africa. He said the Commission is planning to organize an “Ebola Day” in all EU member states to provide the necessary information on the disease and to raise awareness. There will be cultural and sporting events in all member states.

Kadis said the Ministry is ready to assist in any way so that the initiative is successful.
