Into the street we go

By Maria Gregoriou

MANY of us Nicosians on a budget don’t venture out into Stasikratous street where the brand names are many and the price tags carry a few more zeroes than we would like to spend.

But this weekend dare to venture to the street. The reason? The eighth Staskiratous Street party.

Starting at 11am on both days and going all the way up to 8pm, the two-day event was organised to impress both adults and children. The little ones can play on the carousels and other games, while also getting the chance to meet fairytale characters who will be on the streets to make their magical Christmas experience complete.

While the kids can ride on the carousels, the grown-ups can marvel at some cars from the 60s that will be on display and also take a photo with them.

There will be DJs, children’s choirs and other groups of singers making the festive atmosphere a little brighter. While you enjoy the music have a cup of coffee or tea under marquees and buy some Christmas sweets and crafts from charity associations, along with the Hope for Children organisation, who will be spreading much cheer.

So venture out to Stasikratous this weekend because having a bit of fun is absolutely free.
