Man questioned after road death

Police have questioned a man after the death of a 42-year-old Christiana Koushioulou, who was hit by a car on Saturday night while trying to cross the street.
According to the police, Koushioulou who was working at the nearby Christmas fair was hit by a car driven by a 76-year-old man at around 8.20pm while trying to cross Stasinou Avenue and she may also have been hit by a second car, a witness said.
Koushioulou was transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital where she was declared dead upon arrival.
The 76-year-old driver’s breathalyzer showed that he had not consumed any alcohol and police said they are continuing to investigate the case.
