Exhibition in central prisons

An art exhibition by inmates in the central prisons will be held from Wednesday to Saturday with the theme Thinking and Creating Freely.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Justice minister Ionas Nicolaou on Wednesday at 11am at the central prisons.

According to a ministry statement, the exhibition, which will display paintings, religious images, jewellery and other items for sale, will be attended by inmates’ relatives.

“The event aims to promote the artistic, creative and free expression of inmates, broaden their spiritual and artistic boundaries, and strengthen their ties to the outside world, and the spiritual and artistic scenes,” the statement said.
