Green energy boom may not last as lower tariffs, lack of financing, limit demand

Cyprus, which saw its installed photovoltaic capacity doubling in recent years will see the pace slow down, a manager of a company which installs photovoltaics said.

The slowdown will be mainly on increased competition which already led to a reduction of feed-in tariffs combined with difficulties to finance this type of projects, Stathis Frangogiannopoulos, operations manager in the Nicosia-based Sunpower Ltd which installs photovoltaic systems since 2001, said.
