Police urge drivers to be careful (updated)

The police issued a new bulletin earlier this morning regarding the condition of the road network due to the continuing bad weather.

In the Nicosia District there is light snowfall in the Palechori and Klirou regions.
The following roads are open only for vehicles equipped with snow chains or four wheel drives:
Polystippos – Lagoudera/Saranti/Alaonas/Alithinou/Livadion/Chandrion/Xilaitou dam
Palechori – Agros/Askas/Fterikoudi/Farmakas/Sykopetra
Farmakas-KaloChorio Oreinis/Odous
Platanistasa-Kato Moni
Agious Onoufrios-Macheras
Mandras-Kampou area

In the Limassol District the roads leading to Troodos from Karvounas, Platres and Prodromos are closed to all vehicles.
The Agros-Palechori/Karvounas roads are open only for vehicles equipped with snow chains or four wheel drives
All other roads in the area are open but remain slippery.

In the Morphou district the following roads are open only for cars equipped with snow chains or four wheel drives:
Kakopetria- Karvounas/Pinewood/Pedoulas
Pedoulas – Prodromos
Prodromos – Lemythou/Platres
Pedoulas – Kykkos/Milikouri
Kampos – Stavros tis Psokas
Moutoullas – Pedoulas/Kalopanayiotis
Lemythou – Ayios Dimitrios

On the Orkondas-Kambos/Kato Pyrgos roads drivers are urged to be careful due to rock slides.

In the Paphos district all roads are now open.

The police are asking all drivers to be extremely careful and check police bulletins especially for travel in the mountain areas to avoid any unnecessary disappointment.
