Consumer survey gets funds for next six years

THE University of Cyprus has secured more than €1.5m for its Economic Research Centre to continue its Business and Consumers Surveys for the next six years.

The programme is part of the Joint Harmonised European Union Programme of Business and Consumer Surveys, in which all EU member states participate as well as candidate countries, the university said.

“Business and Consumer Surveys aim to map business and consumer perceptions about the current economic situation and expectations for various financial figures,” the university said.

The data is collected monthly, the university said, based on questionnaires harmonised with all the EU member states and concern the sectors of services, retail trade, manufactures, processing and households/consumers.

The sum, which was secured in cooperation with RAI Consultants Ltd, comes from EU funds and contributions of the Finance ministry.
