Players injured in football brawl

A brawl between players of the opposing teams signalled the cutting short of an amateur-league game between AEN Chlorakas and Chrysomilia Ayiou Amvrosiou in Chloraka, Paphos, on Sunday.

According to Paphos police, the game was stopped at 5.15 pm after a fight between players caused two to be rushed to the emergency room after sustaining injuries.

The two, 37 and 39, played for AEN Chlorakas and were kept in hospital for treatment.

The 37-year-old sustained a facial fracture, whereas the 39-year-old suffered a head injury.

Paphos police is investigating the case.
