Police catch 12-year-old at the wheel in Paphos

Traffic police in Paphos were surprised on Sunday when they spotted a 12-year-old driving along the Polemiou-Kallepeia road with his parents aged 58 and 47 on board.

The father was arrested, charged and released for allowing the child to drive without a licence and insurance.

In other traffic incidents over the weekend a 26-year-old man was hospitalised in Limassol after his vehicle hit two parked cars in Limassol. The accident happened just before midnight on Sunday. The car also had three passengers who were slightly injured and treated at the emergency room. The driver sustained a serious head injury and fractures to his arms and legs.

Another accident on Sunday left a 22-year-old man injured when is car overturned in the early hours of the morning on a street in Konia village in Paphos. A passenger, the same age, was also in the car. He was slightly injured, treated and released.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
