Foreign Minister, Ioannis Kasoulides, leaves on Thursday for Paris, where he will participate in the second ministerial meeting of the Mediterranean Group (Med Group).
The Med Group is an informal body consisting of seven Mediterranean EU Member States with issues of common interests.
The meeting on Friday will be attended by foreign ministers of Greece, France, Spain, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Cyprus, as well as the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the Union Federica Mogherini.
At the heart of the work of Med Group is the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean region with emphasis on developments in Syria, Iraq and Libya, as well as the crisis in Ukraine. The foreign ministers will exchange views with the aim of establishing common positions on the review of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the best use of available resources, as well as the goals of the upcoming summit of the ‘Eastern Partnership’, to be held in Riga on May 21 and 22.
Kasouldies returns to Cyprus on Saturday.
