Suspect arrested for theft in Paphos

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Paphos on Tuesday for allegedly possessing goods believed to be stolen.

According to police reports, after 48-year-old man reported his car had been broken into, officers acting on a tip-off were directed to the suspect. They said that during a search his house they found 22 mobile phones, eight computer hard drives, seven cameras and eight signal amplifiers. A number of other electronic devices and jewellery were found.

Furthermore, during a search at a warehouse rented by the 24-year-old they found a knife and a torch belonging to the 48-year-old whose car had been broken into.

The suspect could not give an adequate explanation as to the origin of the items, police said, and was arrested.
