Migrant information centre opening at Solomou Square

As of Sunday, the capital will have an immigrant advisory and support centre, the Nicosia multipurpose centre has announced.

The ‘Immigrant Information Office’, which is located in the city centre, next to Solomou Square (bus terminal) aims at informing immigrants about the free psychosocial support they can receive, the services of the multipurpose centre, and of other organisations.

Visitors can also receive information on all social programmes offered by the Nicosia municipality.

“The area has been chosen to better facilitate access to immigrants, since it is known that they use Nicosia buses to move around the weekends and they visit the nearby parks,” the announcement said.

The inauguration ceremony will take place on Sunday at 11.30am by Nicosia mayor Constantinos Yiorkadjis.

The centre will operate Saturdays between 9am and 2pm and Sundays from 8am to 2pm.

The project is part of the action ‘New Channels for the integration of Third Country Nationals’.
