Famagusta bus drivers on strike

BUS drivers of the Famagusta public transport service OSEA have called an indefinite strike as of Friday for not having received their February wages.

The strike will begin at 8am after the buses have transported children to their schools, a statement by affiliated unions said.

Bus drivers said they did not wish to inconvenience the public, but had no choice in the matter.

The statement cited a previous decision taken by the unions, according to which OSEA employees will go on strike whenever the payment of salaries is delayed by three days.
