Police find cannabis inside boilers at port

Police on Tuesday arrested five suspects and seized 30kg of cannabis imported to Cyprus inside three boilers, which arrived from Greece.

The truck carrying the drugs was intercepted by drug squad officers after it unloaded the container at Limassol port.

Police arrested the importer, a 42-year-old Greek national and four others suspected of being involved.

Two of the suspects are also Greek, aged 33 and 43. The other two are Cypriots, 39 and 41.

The suspects will be brought before a court on Wednesday, police said. Further arrests have not been ruled out.
