Larnaca seafront

A 40-year-old man was arrested early Monday in connection with the burglary of a home in Larnaca and theft of cash and valuables.

A Larnaca resident reported on Sunday that watches, jewellery and (British) ₤400 (€560) were stolen from his house, police said, and an arrest warrant was issued against the suspect after he was linked to the case.

The man, who is known to police and had done time in jail in the past, was arrested at around 3.40am after he was spotted wandering suspiciously in Phaneromeni Avenue in Larnaca.
