Bomb blast in Sotira

A car bomb exploded in the early hours of Thursday outside the home of a 38-year-old man from Ayia Thekla in Sotira, Famagusta district.

The blast caused damage to the man’s car to an adjacent parked vehicle.

A Famagusta police spokesman said the blast occurred at around 3.30am outside the home of the Greek Cypriot.

It caused damage to the left side of the car where the device had been placed.

Police said the owner did not suspect anyone of trying to harm him.  Officers took evidence from the scene, which will be forensically examined as part of the investigation.
