‘Allo,’ Allo, I spy with my little eye

Have you seen Colin Firth’s new film Kingsman: The Secret Service? And did you like it? If so, you might be interested to know the play The 39 Steps is only a short way away.

The comic thriller The 39 Steps, to be staged at the Dionysos Theatre on Friday in Limassol, is based on the 1915 adventure novel of the same title by John Buchan and the 1935 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Richard Hannay is at a London music hall theatre when shots are fired. In true old-time classic flair, Hannay finds himself calming down a woman, Annabella Smith, and taking her back to his apartment. She reveals that she is a spy who is being chased by assassins. But there is more, she has uncovered a plot to steal vital British military secrets. She also mentions the 39 steps, but will she reveal the hidden meaning?
