Children’s creations

By Maria Gregoriou

The Aigaia School of Art and Design in Nicosia has made it a tradition to show-case art made by children aged up to 12 during various workshops given at the art school.

This year, like every year, the exhibition aims at highlighting the authenticity of children’s art work, their unique look at different subjects, and how they take on tasks and create their final pieces using different art forms.

While this is the aim of the exhibition to the viewer, the aim towards the children is to get them involved in the creative process so that they can gain knowledge and foster an appreciation for all arts, not only the one which involves paper and paints.

Visit the art school tomorrow for the opening and get to see paintings, crafts, sculptures, pottery, mosaics, illustrations and installations, the inexhaustible wealth of a child’s enthusiasm and willingness to give.

During the length of the exhibition those who visit the school will be able to take part in a number of activities related to the themes illustrated in the art work on display.
