Two arrested in separate theft cases

Two men were arrested late on Friday in separate cases, one involving a series of burglaries and thefts in Nicosia and the second on suspicion of stealing from a closed hotel in Larnaca.

The first man, a 29-year-old was arrested in the capital following a police investigation into a series of thefts from homes and kiosks.

Police said he admitted to the offences, and that stolen items were found in his possession.

In the second incident, a hotel owner in Larnaca reported that in December, while the premises was closed for the winter season, kitchen and restaurant equipment totaling €19,300 was stolen.

Police investigations led them to a 35-year-old in Larnaca who was arrested on suspicion of being the culprit.
