Open university offers courses in English

THE Open University of Cyprus (OUC) has announced it now accepts applications for enrollment to its four postgraduate study programmes taught in English.

The OUC, which was established in 2002, is the country’s only university dedicated to distance learning, and it is increasingly growing in academic stature and overall reputation.

The public university, which for the 2015-2016 academic year offers three undergraduate and 21 postgraduate courses, aims to fill an important gap in the Cypriot higher education system by offering accredited distance learning degrees at all levels – undergraduate, Master’s and doctoral. The majority of its nearly 4,800 students are studying at Master’s level.

As a means to attract foreign students, the OUC announced that it developed four Masters courses taught in English: MA in Business Administration (MBA), Enterprise Risk Management, International Hospitality and Tourism Management and Sustainable Energy Systems. Apart from the MBA, the other three programmes are offered jointly with other public and private universities in Cyprus and Greece.

The programmes are addressed to people already in the labour market who want to reorient their careers or gain additional qualifications, as well as people that seek employment and wish to attain an accredited degree with European-wide recognition.

Prospective students can apply online until April 23.
