UK Cypriots urged to vote in May’s general election

The National Federation of Cypriots in the UK has urged members of the community who are eligible to vote to register for the May 7 election and to participate by voting for candidates who support the cause of ending the Turkish occupation and reunifying the island.

In a statement the Federation said the general election represented a unique opportunity for UK Cypriots to exercise their democratic right. “We urge all Cypriots in the United Kingdom eligible to vote in the General Election to do so,” the statement said.

British Cypriots should first ensure that they are registered to vote and they have until April 20 to register if not already on the electoral register at
