On your marks

By Maria Gregoriou

If you like driving fast but don’t like being behind the wheel so much, you will love the 48 hour charity rally that will start today in aid of the 40th Christodoulou March, which will take place next week, to raise funds to support cancer patients.

The rally will begin at the head office of the Bank of Cyprus in Ayia Paraskevi in Nicosia at 2pm. The cars will be ready to go after the cue given by Strovolos mayor Lazaros Savvides.

At around 12.30pm tomorrow, the rally should finish at Kakopetria square, where a closing ceremony will be held and awards will be given.
It will be lunch time so the drivers will sit down to a feast of traditional souvla, and if you just happen to be to join in the celebrations, why not have a spot of lunch yourself.
